HAWERA SPRING SHOW.

RECORD ENTRIES. The list of entries for the Hawera Show is just 0n'260 in'excess'of >ahV previous record. • ‘The show sliohld therefore 1)0 the most attractive exhibition yet held under the Society’s auspices, as quality is an outstanding feature in addition, to numbers. The classes right through are well contested, some naturally being particularly strong. Jerseys and Ayrshires figure the most prominently in cattle; in sheep the competition in Romneys is particularly good, and the fat classes will lie particularly attractive. Under favorable weather conditions this year’s show will,'without dohbt, be a record in every respect. There were many contingencies to contend against; 1 and considering the shortage of farm labor owing to the strike, and then again a considerable amount of stock going through to Auckland, the entries are meritorious. Arrangements are well in hand for the big carnival on Wednesday and Thursday next. Excursion fares are available on the railways. The ring events will be particularly attractive, as some of the best outside horses will be competing and the usual side shows will be present in strong force.
