SECOND CROUP’S FIRST BALLOT.

The first ballot for an appropriation of £4OO was held in the Borough Council Chambers, Stratford, last night, when there was a very good attendance of shareholders of; the Second Group. Mr N. J. King, chairman of directors, presided. The shareholders present * nominated Messrs.'.!*, Masters and P. Skoglund to conduct the ballot, and-tpj act as scrutineers. It was agreed that the ninth marble drawn should be the wiiming-gpe, a tl d this turned out to he number 181, owned by Mr J. I\. Parker, carpenter, of Eltham. As Mr Parker also holds a second share in the Group, the chairman. in his absence from the meeting, accepted the £4OO on his behalf. It was -gratifying to the directors to see the interest taken in the ballot by tiie shareholders, and the chairman said that he was pleased to be able to state that not only had they the present £4OO immediately available but they were also well on the way towards a second appropriation, which would he disposed of much earlier than the first had been. Votes of thanks to the scrutineers concluded the proceedings. Tn connection with the Second Group of the Stratford Building Society, the secretary wishes to inform those who contemplate taking no shares thatthere arc still a few available. The paid-up value of shares at present is £1 12s 6d each, and those thinking of joining the Society are advised not to delay in the matter, as the price of the shares will increase at the rate of 5s per month, and this additional amount will have to he paid for them in a lump sum.
