THE SCOTSDYKE FIRE.

The Scotsdyke was on a voyage from North Africa to Sunderland when she caught hie off the ise of Wight. Several of the crew were hemmed in the forecastle,and had a marvellous escape. They had to dasli through the flames and one was badly burned.
Captain 0 rigor remained on the bridge till it was burnt under aim. The engineers stuck to their posts in dense smoke until the vessel was about to be abandoned.
The battleship Iron Duke, in a heavy sea, took off all on board, including the captain's wife, two passengers and twenty-four of the crew. The steamer is aflame from end to end. The hull is being towed to the Isle of Wight.
