The Northern Rugby Union has accepted New South Wales’s offer of six-ty-five per cent, of the gross receipts for a tour in Australia and New Zealand provided that the touring players are not allowed to transfer their services either to New South Whiles or New Zealand, and vice versa, until two years’ actual residential qualification has been obtained, commencing after the completion of the tour. The players must not be approached during the tour. SCULLING. (Received 8 a.m.) London, November 18. Barry’s acceptance of Paddon’s challenge may possibly lead to a deadlock, owing to Albany having a prior challenge, which Barry declined to consider. Albany will probably claim the championship because bis challenge was ignored. BOXING. Now York, November 18. , “Gunboat” Smith gained the decision over Sam* Langford in a twelverounds’ bout at Boston.
