A STEAMER ON FIRE.
HARD-FOUGHT VICTORY. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.25 a.m.) Melbourne, November 18. The Austrian steamer Josefagost Fokerozeg, from Fiume, in the Adriatic Sea, arrived with the general cargo seriously damaged by fire and water. The outbreak' was discovered on Saturday, when forty miles off Portland. It burned fiercely, and the destruction of the vessel was threatened. After many hours' hard fighting, the crew managed to check the flames.
