The nominations show 254 candidates for ninety electorates, of whom three, Messrs Cann (treasurer), Lee, Tenterfield, and Cohen (Petersham). Liberals, have been returned unoppos ed. In twenty-nine electorates th' vote is split by Independents. Most of the splitting is against the Libera l interest.

At a political meeting Mr Wade (Leader of the Opposition) said: "Take my word, if the Libera] Party is returned, an invitation will be sent to the Governor-General to return tc New South "Wales."
The announcement was greeted wit! much enthusiasm.
