MASTODON REMAINS.
FOUND AT SEATTLE. [By Electric Telegraph — Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 10.40 a.m.) New York, November 14. The remains of a mastodon were found 150 feet beneath the surface at Seattle when hydraulic machinery was excavating the ground for the new sports .stadium. Professor Bretz, of the State University, believes that such monsters were common in prehistoric ages on the Pacific Coast. Xone, however, have hitherto been found on the coast. 'A mastodon is an extinct genus of mammals, allied to the elephant.)
