The milk supply is about arj its higliest, and the season points towards"" being a record one. The farmers are 'busy ploughing, in preparation of fodder for the autumn and j winter. The Stratford County Conn- | oil steam roller is _at present j working at Toko, iind is making a good job of the new metal being pm down, Asssmbly Hail Society. i Swarms of bees have been noticed living last week, which is considered veryVarly. The annual meeting of the Toko Assembly Hall Society .was held on 31st inst. There was a fair number of members present. I'mnew committee for the ensuing year were elected as follow Messrs W. H. Were, (chairman), W. I’ratt (secre--1 vary and treasurer), C. Morrison. 1 ia. Lees, M. Oernhoefer, J. T. Kiipatriek, C. Rik^ v |}. Bain, E. Smith Mr G. E. Boeock was re-elected auditor. A Fanner’s Loss. I Mr J. Haughton had rather had luc| last week. He was driving to tin factory with his milk, when his hors: I dropped dead on the road. Ihe eigh cans of milk in the cart at the time l were, securely tied, and thus fertile damage was prevented. 'Tins’His a heavy loss to Mr Haughtoh; as lie only bought the horse a week previous a 1 the Stratford Horse fair, paying tn sum of £25, An Unfortunate Accident. On Saturday, a shooting acciden happened to MVj.T. Caskey, which might have been fatal. It appear that Caskey and C. Tuck went on hare shooting on Saturday afternoon when both men parted, each one goin j opposite directions round a hill. Tnc 1 | fired at a hare ( , running towards th | top of the hill*, and at the same mo I meat Caskey came on top from Hr j other side, and was hit by the shot ■ one pellet entered his eye, and fiv more in his peck and shoulder. Dr Steven was rung up, and attended Xthe man, but on examination he form the ease not so serious as was re ported, though he might, have easik lost his eyesight. Caskey is now un tier doctor’s treatment. General. Mr T. A. Boeock, manager Tok r Road Creame'ry, put up a record i» skimming.
