DETECTIVES v. PIRATES.
BROOKLYN BRIDGE BATTLE. [By Electric lelegraph— Corvkiciit] [United Tress Association.; (Received 11.10 a.m.) Now York, November 12. An extraordinary battle took place between detectives and river puates under Brooklyn Bridge. M Jiolesale thefts of waterfront goods having been reported to the police, detectives concealed themselves in barges, overtook motor boats laden with stolen coffee, and ordered the occupants to surrender. The latter replied with revolver shots. The detectives returned the fire, all of them being badly wounded, but the thieves surrendered. I The police believe they have stopped the operations of the gang, whose depredations extended over years.
