CRICKET.
INGLEWOOD v. STRATFORD. The above cricket match was playeci on the local A. and P. Association’s grounds yesterday afternoon, and wasj most enjoyable. D. Clegg captained j the visitors, and J. Hill the local team. Messrs. A. :W. Budge and J. Donald kindly acted as umpires. Mrs Brooking’s afternoon tea was excellent. Stratford went first to the wickets, but were all out for 28 runs. Inglewood replied with 64, Stratford in their second innings doing much better, and declaring their innings closed with the loss of 7 wickets for a total of 66 runs. Inglewood thus won by 36 runs on the first innings. The chief scorers for Inglewood were G. Pullen 11, and W. Matthews 10, and for Stratford E. Jackson 18, Lowroy 16 (not out), Dunlop 12, and Kirkham 10 (not out). The most successful bowlers for Inglewood were A. Smith, 10 wickets for 16 runs, and Darlow 3 for 23; and for Stratford .1. East 5 wickets for 9 runs, and Hale > for 17 runs.
