The Stratford Dairy Company pay out for October milk on the 20th the sum of CSOO-'i. The figures for the two previous year o were £6785 (1912), and £5009 (1911).
The Minister for Defend j-econtly made and Gazetted tlie following regulation under the Defence Act: "So Territorial shall wear his uniform or any part thereof (including the military greatcoat except when performing military duties, or serving in any camp of training or military exercise, or going to or .from the place of parade;: exercise, training, or military duty. Every Territorial who commits a breach of this regulation is liable to . a fine not exceeding £‘2 for each such offence., recoverable on summary conviction.” A similar regulation was made in ■ respect : of Senior Cadets. Archbishop -Kelly, in the course of ah address at Corrimal (X.S.W.), when lie opened the Catholic church, was speaking on the question of religion in schools when he said he was reminded of a story of the man of blood and iron. Owing to :i clashing of dates at 1 the [ Xew Plymouth Theatre, the Royal Pantomime Co., which played “BoPeep” in the Stratford Town Hal! last night, will return on Saturday, wfhon they will give two performances of “Old .Mother Huhhard.” This panto, should prove particularly acceptable to the young folk, and with a view to encouraging their presence at the matinee in the afternoon the management announce special prices for children. In the evening “Old Mother Huhhard” will be repeated. “The woman who went to the cupboard'’ is stated to provide one of the funniest pantomimes ever staged, while the '’scenery and dressing are j exquisite and the ballets delightfully refreshing.

At the Court this morning James Fearon was fined £3, in default fourteen days’ imprisonment, on a charge of indecent exposure at Whangamomona on November Ist. At a meeting of shareholders of the Lowgarth Dairy Co., held on Thursday, it was decided to increase the share capital by £.3 ( 11)0. Mr G. Townsend was appointed a director in the place of Mr L. F. Bell, who has left the district. The children’s practice yesterday afternoon in connection with the Fire Brigade hall was crowded to the doors. Judging from the enthusiasm taken both by the adults and children, there is every reason to anticipate that the ball on Thursday, the —7th inst., will he a decided success. » A fine of £2 with costs 7« was im- | posed on Thomas Henry Henderson at ; the Court this morning on a charge | of having exposed unvaccinated stock | for sale in tho Douglas saieyards. It was explained to him that no j odium would attach to him. He de- | sired to he put on three months’ pro- | hation in the matter, but was told j that if the order were issued it would i have to be made at once and continue for twelve months. “Oh, don’t j do that,” said the old man in a pathei tic voice, “1 might not live that long.” Application was made at the Court this morning for the' issue of a prohibition order against an elderly man. Sergeant McXeely explained that tho trouble was caused chiefly by the j man’s friends drinking with him, and I the matter was adjourned for a month, j defendant in the meantime to promise j not- to frequent hotels or to take too | much drink. If this promise is broj ken the matter will be brought up earlier.
