STRATFORD GUN CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Gun Club was held last night.

The patron (Mr W. P. 'Kirkwood), in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said the club was in a good financial position, and the last season’s shooting Showed that the club members were lit to take part in any shooting match in the country. When the club started practically none of the members knew much about shpoting at clay birds andtheir performances were not very good, but had improved year by year. The club owed much of its success to the efforts of Mr Hunter, who was a keen enthusiast. He regretted that Mr Hunter could not see his way to continue as secretary, but Mr Davies was a good “sport” and would carry on the work.of the club. The good credit balance shown was due in a degree to the .shoot for the Roswell gun. He would like to see another such competition this season, believing that it would attract shooters from all parts of the province. Since the Stratford club had been started other clubs had been formed hr the province, so that they could be claimed as olfshoots of che Stratford’Club. The motion was seconded by Mr Davies and carried.

The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr W. P. Kirkwood; president, Mr A. Stewart; vice-presidents, Messrs T. A. W. Nicholson and E. d. Kirkwood; committee, Messrs W. P. Kirkwood (chairman), H. Campbell, R. L. Davies, A. Scott, Voyle, E. W. Clouston, W. J. Hamblyn, and G. D. Hunter; secretary,’ Mr R. Davies; handicapper, Mr W. J. Morrison. The annual subscription was fixed at live shillings. Mr Davies offered to donate a trophy to lie competed for at the opening shoot.

It was decided to bold a sweepstake, with Air Davies’ trophy as secomprize, and that the shoot take place to-day week.

The first meeting of the committee is to be held next Tuesday night.

Votes of thanks were passed to the Racing Club, the Golf Club, the handicappor, the retiring secretary, and all who had assisted the club.
