RAILWAY SIGNALLING.

AN IMPROVED SYSTEM.

[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] Times—Sydney Sun Special Cables.

(Received 8 a.m.) London, November 12,

A system of audible signalling has been installed between Paddington and Reading stations. The driver receives notification from the position of the signals if everything is all right, and a hell rings in the engine-cab. If the signals are at danger, a whistle blows and the brakes are applied automatically. If the apparatus fails in any particular, another distinct signal warns the driver. The svstem is gradually being extended throughout tho Great Western railway.
