The loss of property is estimated at £BOO,OOO. The food shortage, is keen. The railways are unable to transport supplies, as they are blocked with snow. The steamer Garmer is stranded and the captain and crew of twenty are in danger of being drowned owing to the snow storm. A gale is raging over the Great Lakes. There is not yet any clue as to the identity of the capsized freight vessel.
