HAWERA SPRING SHOW.
WOME'INUuistRY FANCY
There was-a time when, agricultural and pastoral shows in. Zealand were confined almost, solely- :to live stock and maehinv-ry, and in consequenqe. itfi&tiii hvaM ribtliiiig ivnb."ekhibition to attract a large number of women. Of recent years, 'however, this order ofrthings has been changed, greatly to the advantage •of shows, and now-It i& the general custom to include in the schedule classes in home industry and fancy work, enabling women and l girls'to .compete with one another in cookery, preservos, and needlework. Further than this, a lively interest is taken in schoolboys and -schoolgirls by show officiate, and classes ar - oprbvided wherein these young people- can 1 enter into'friendly rivalry with one another, to the advaiitage of all. The Hawera A. and P. Show schedule of 1913 embraces all such classes, 'and no doubt ample advantage will be taken of this as heretofore. Entries close at the office o:i the secretary "(Mr : f." G. Treweek). Winter Show >, Hawera, on Saturday, loth inst. Schedules and entry forms may bebbtained on application.
