WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.
COUNCIL’S MONTHLY MEETING. AT tlie October meeting oi' the Whahgamomona County Coinieil there were present: Crs. A . A. McCntchan, W. Bacon, K. B. Robertou, J. Diggius, and -J. McCiuggage. An apology was received from the chairman, Cr. A. Meredith, for his unavoidahle absence on private affairs, and Cr. McCntchan was voted to the chair. The Engineer was" authorised to repair the Vera .Road bridge as opportunity officers; also the factory bridge on Oh lira Road in the Central Riding. A letter was received from (I. Cornish regarding damage to his section through water from a neighbouring section. —The Engineer was instructed to inspect the section and report to the Council.
Tim following motion was..moved by Cr. Bacon and seconded liy Cr McCutchan: “That the chairman he am thorised to call public meetings foi the purpose ’of discussing and considering proposals for the re-metal-ling of (hilira Road in the Central Riding, such meetings to he hold on November 18th; and that the clerk prepare schedules of rates to he charged on the basis of (a) including the main road sections only, and (h) including all the sections on the byroads, the main road sections to be included in their entirety, aiid hy-road sections for a half only,. A special meeting to he held on thc.saipe dad after the public meetings,” Tin motion was carried after the deletion of clause (a). J. Hodden .made a claim ir respect of an accident to a horse o: the„Maiigaowata Road.—The Counci' decide,d .to write to. the Minister for Public’Works, asking him to favorahb consider the claim. On the motion of Cr. McCntchan. seconded by Cr. Bacon, it was decider to accept the resignation «f Fpj'emai Jamieson and to place on record the Council’s appreciation of This loyalO and faithful, service.
