[Per Press Association.]
Christchurch, November 7
The arrival of the North Island horses enlivened proceedings on the track this morning. Quarantine did steady work, sprinting half a mile. Sea Pink, Midnight Sun and Ariom covered a mile together in Imin 46 3-osec. Sea* Pink had the most advantage. Ariom also finished well. Undecided and Royal Arms ran a mile in Imin 46 2-oscc. Finusby Well, and OxCnliope cut out three furlongs in 37 l-ssec. Crown Pearl and Patronale did four furlongs in 49 2-ssec. Obsono went five furlongs in Imin 2 2-ssec. Brocade, Downham, Hymettus, and Hyethis appear to be the best of the North Island two-year-olds, at work. It is understood that Tannhauser will not start for the Cup if the weather is fine.
