Posinatus soon went to the front and maintained his lead to the finish. At the abattoirs, going strongly, he was two lengths in front of Sea Prince, Belove, Cagou, Mountain Princess, Uncle Sam, Limelight, and Croshka. Sea Prince was still second entering the straight, while Mountain Princess had run into third place. Limelight had also greatly improved his position. At the distance Sea Prince was displaced in second position by Belove. Posinatus won well by three-quarters of a length, with Ulva’s Isle one and a half lengths further back. Then came Sea Prince, Beragoon, Wassail, Mountain Princess, ?ir Vive, and Uncle Sam, with Golden Shore last. Time, 3niin 31seC.
