Christchurch, November 4. At Riccarton this morning Warstej finished well over five furlongs in lmii: 4sec.j and Stepdancer made the same time. Query ran five furlongs in lmin 4|sec, and Quarantine, assisted bj' Veritas and Briar Patch, traversed a mile and a quarter in 2min ll£soc, finishing well; he carried a light weight. .Mowbray covered seven furlongs in lmin 32sec. Chrysotis did six furlongs in lmin 22sec, and Marttus ran a mile in lmin 47 2-ssec. Jeannot, going leisurely at the end of a similar distance, ran it in lmin 58 sec, and Honesty and Charmilla finished together over four furlongs; Cortes, who started with them, was three lengths away. Brown Owl and. Stevedore ran a mile strongly in lmin . 46sec. Snowraker went free, and was going well at the end of five furlongs, cut out in lmirt Bsec. Peg finished in front of Salzburg over five furlongs in lrain ojsec, both appearing to have something reserved; Carolus assisted in the last half. Martial galloped six furlongs in lmin 20sec. Merry Roe and Bleriot were going nicely at the end of a similar journey done in lmin 18sec. Winning Way furlongs lmin 33 3-ssec; Banksia, seven furlongs in lmin 35 4-ssec; Chorale and Gnome, five furlongs in lmin e.^sec;
while'Whizz defeated First Glance ovei six furlongs in lmin 20 l-ssed. Emperador Jiad Midnight Sun j beater throughout a ten furlongs: gallop done in 2min 19 3-ssec, and finished undei a strong pull-- Flora Macdonald ran ten furlongs, the last nine being cut out in lmin 59sec. Bon Reve showed up nicely in a gallop- with Lareina, finishing ,in good style, being three lengths ahead at the end of a mile and a-quarter. Lareina's effort was 'disappointing, apparently failing to respond to the rider's call when Bon Reve made .his. Tun, time 2min 13 3-5 sec. There was a large muster on the tracks,,but the northern horsejs were baldly mis&etk-'' .
