WEATHER FORECAST.
The Government Meteorologist (Rev’ D. 0. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows: The indications are for: Southerly moderate to strong winds, and weather probably cool and changeable with passing showers; hut should improve shortly. The night will, probably be very cold. Barometer rising slowly. There will be a rehearsal of the Operatic Society in the Parish Hall this evening.
Among the striking effects brought about by the watersiders’ dispute, in which the whole Dominion is now involved, is the, case of a Dunedin him of merchants who have had to notify their travellers (including the Taranaki representative) to discontinue soliciting orders owing to the inability of the staff at headquarters to secure supplies from the overseas trmps lying in the harbor.
Messrs Davey and Richardson, of New Plymouth, holders of letters patent in respect of a non-rehllable and protective bottle, leave for London this month in connection with the invention. There are only a few shares now left in the company floated to exploit the patent, and an opportunity is to he offered to Stratford investors to secure these. With this object in view representatives of the company will be in Stratford to-morrow and samples of the bottles will be on view at the premises of Messrs Webster, Dobson and Co., and its feature will be explained to those interested. _
