MR ASQUITH ATTACKED,

Suffragettes held up Mr Asquith at Bannockburn, one crouching before the motor car while the others threw pepper and attempted to strike Mr Asquith with dog whips. Detectives following in a police car overpowered the women and took them to Stirling. POSITION OF AMERICAN WOMEN. New York, November 2. Mrs Pankhurst, in a lecture to women voters at Chicago, warned them to avoid militancy, as there was no need for American women to use violence to obtain votes. She considered that to attack Air Asquith with dog whips was perfectly proper in view of his attitude. DAMAGING PLATE CLASS WINDOWS. (Received R. 30 a.m.) London, November 2. Suffragettes are suspected of scoring with diamonds deep wavy lines in a dozen plate glass windows in the shopping centres in Edinburgh.
