KILLING OF OPOSSUMS. [Per Press Association.! Invercargill, November 2. At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Lumsden, Thomas Gibson and 11. AVilson were charged with taking and killing opossums at the Five Rivers Estate, contrary to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act and recent regulations. The proceedings were taken by the Southland Acclimatisation Society. Air Young, S.M., convicted the defendants and imposed fines and costs aggregating £ll 15s.
