BUTTER-FAT COMPETITION. • Attention is directed to this coiu- 5 petition, held annually in connection, with the Egmont A. and.T., Association’s Show at Hawera. As the dairy herd competition is based on the whole season’s returns, so in the butter-fat the competition is held over nine days, Thus the cows are held by the Association for five, days before commences, giving all a fair and equal chance to “settle down.’ A departure from previous years will be made in that the Society will milk all .the cows,, and exhibitors will not be allowed to interfere in any way. \|fith the feeding or milking of the cows. Splendid: accommodation is being prepared for, the. competition, and y the Association will in all probability have the services of two milkers well kncpvn throughout the district for good work. The competition will be under. *4he supervision of Mr T. Tait. In addition to special prizes, the Association offers £lO 10s for first, £5 5s for Second, and £2 2s for third awards!'Entries for this competition close on Saturday, November 8.
