The Observatory has received a cable from Kiel announcing the discovery of a new comet. it may prove to we the same as the third comet of 1900, At 9 pm., yesterday its position was: Right ascension, nineteen hours, eighteen minutes, .forty seconds ; declination, eleven degrees, thirty-nine minutes, south. Perth, November 1. A strange murder is reported near Port Headland. Griffith Boyer was lately reported drowned near Vallal, the body being washed out to sea. Blacks have now found Boyer’s body in a native well, three miles from the beach partly burned and almost unrecognisable. Melbourne, November 1.
The Aurora sails on the eighth for Hobart', whence she. sails on the fifteenth for the Macquarries to relieve Hr. Mawson.
A ratin':’- serirtus accident occurred last night just outside tUte&Rorough. on Mountaiu Road south. Mr J. b. Burgess was riding towards Strattord on his motor cycle when he collided with a horse being led along the road, being, thrown heavily. He. was removed to Mr 13. Harkness’ house and attended to. A cab was brought to the scene and Mj: Burgess was removed to the hospital, where it was found that he was rather badly hurt about the head. h
