Thirty-five women of different classes applied for seats at the WellsMchegan fight on Clip night, including five well-known Sydney ladies who are accustomed to attend the Thursday matinees at the Sydney Stadium. They wished to secure the highest priced seats. “Snowy” Baker does not allow women to he present except at light contests and sparring encounters, therefore he refused all applications from ladies, including the request of a 'Melbourne society set for the erection of a special box on Cup night where:they could' sec with-r out being soon. . .
