A new class worthy of special mention is the one day test for all cows and heifers in milk, a competition at the the show, irrespective of breed.. The test is to be decided on the two milkings'on the. first day of the show. This is a competition that has found much favor with the breeders in l Jersey Island, and, as the Dairy classes are always very strong at'this show, should bring forth
some striking results. The Dairy Farm Competition has been thoroughly revised .under the direction of last year’s judges, Messrs Cuddie, Reakes, and Lambie. The provision of mangolds has been struck out, and the provision of winter feed substituted. The Association were greatly complii merited last year on the initiation of this competition, and there is no doubt that it tends to help all those showing what can he accomplished on the soil of the Stratford district. Special classes have been added for stencilling, painting, and fretwork, and photography for amateurs, and should draw good competition. The Association lias secured challenge classes dog classes for smooth coated collies, field spaniels, and bull terriers. . It is also their intention to work a working trial of all dogs entered in, the working collie class. A handsome gold medal has been’; donated as first prize for this event. Taken in all, the schedule is one of the most progressive of its kind, and we urge upon exhibitors, who cannot attend themselves, to send tlieir stock along. The Association makes great efforts to give exhibitors every possible attention, so it behoves one and all to support this nrogressive and pp-to-date Association.
