CORED BY A BULL. Gisbo'rno, October 20. Thomas Walter . Eevell, a wellknown middle-aged settler of Makauri, near Gisbornc, was admitted to a private hospital'this morning, having been gored by a bull last night. He died this evening. The details are meagre, llevell leaves a widow and a young daughter. BOY LOSES HIS HAND. [Per Press 'Association.] About half-past five on Monday evening (records the Waipa Post) a most distressing accident happened to Tom Martin, a lad thirteen years old, soil of Mr F. G. Martin, of Te Awamutu, which resulted in the boy losing his right hand. It appears that lie was helping his father in feeding the chaff-cutter, when by some' taeans his right hand w,as entangled in the machine', and unable to extriqate his arhi till severed .below:, the elbow.
