HEAVY RAINS.
COMPLETE HOLD-UP BY FOURTEEN SLIPS. [Per Press Association.] Taihape, October 24. ; Heavy continuous rain which fell on Wednesday night and all day on Thursday caused numerous slips between Iltiku and Manga'weka, completely blocking, the traffic. There were fourteen slips, and .passengers by the express from Auckland Were unable to proceed. South of Taihape there were several wafihouts on the line. It is estimated that it will take till Sunday before the service can be resumed. Possibly temporary arrangements will be made to transfer the passengers across the slips. To-day there is brilliant sunshine.
