Mr Jerome has eecured the indictment' of Thaw and others concerned in his escape on a charge of conspiracy in New York State. The grand jury returned the indictment in order to enable Mr Jerome to hare Thaw extradited to N«"« Hampshire. The "rand'iury at Matteawan failed to'return the indictment', hence Mr Jerome's appeal to the New York jury.
