The Canadian Minister for Defence, Colonel Sam Hughes, who was present ar the British Army manoeuvres, told an interviewer quite• frankly that he thought Canada oxiglrt to have a voice in settling the problems of Imperial defence. "The colonies," he said, "do not want to interfere in mattors that concern Great Britain, Ireland or any other unit alone.
