Messrs At more, Isitt, and Thomson, M.iVs who delivered speeches at the Town Hall last night, proceeded to Hawera this morning, being driven through by motor by Mr 1C Masters. They will speak at Hawera this evening.
the British Association’s invited guests include Sir Gibbs Bourne, Professor Brown, astronomer at Yale University, Professor Swale Vincent, and Doctor Duerdin.
Mr M. S. McNicol, stationmaster at Blenheim, has received notice of transfer to New Plymouth. Mr A. Brown, formerly of the Picton office, and for some time past stationmaster at Ward, has been transferred to Blenheim.
Sergeant-Major William Thomas Ma son, aged GB, died suddenly at Blenheim on Sunday. He fought in the Maori war. He retired from the police four years ago. He was the last of the sergeant-majors of police Jin the Dominion. - Mr W. Rolfe, stationmaster at I Napier, has decided to retire |on superannuation at the end of November when he will have completed 40 years’ service in the Railway Department. It is reported that Mr Williams, at present at Gisborne, is to be promoted to Napier.
