SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO A TAXI.

[Pee Press Hastings, October 20

A serious motor accident occurred, near the intersection of Karamu Road and Southampton Street this morning. A taxi driven by-Thomas Connelly, in endeavouring to avoid, a collision with another car approaching at right angles,- crashed into a telegraph pole. ■The taxi was completely wrecked, and Connelly sustained serious internal injuries. ■ > THE TE ARAROA CASE. “ * . ■_ , . Gisborne, October 20. The inquest at Te Araroa regarding the death of Harry Florey under tragic circumstances, resulted in a verdict that death was caused by drowning, but whether by suicide or accidental the evidence did not show ; but, there was no reason to believe that death was caused by foul play or had any actual or direct connection with the proceedings at Te Araroa on the ,/ Five persons who tool! a leading part in the .expulsion of deceased from the township, as well as some spectators, gave evidence narrating the facts already published. ~ Inspctor Donovan states that the incident will .probably form the subject of proceedings before the Magistrate’s Court.
