A DROWNING FATALITY
[Pee Press Association.] Christchurch, October 19
The body of a man was found on Saturday afternoon in a creek at South Park. The creek has high, steep banks, but contains only 2ft. of water. The body was lying face downwards. A post mortem examination showed that i t was. the body of a strong man of 55 years of age. The' condition of things pointed to death heiijg duo to drowning. At the in-, quest, held before Mr Bishop, S.M., district .coroner, Sergeant A. S. Bird identified the body as that of William
Walker, a laborer shearer, formerlyresiding at Culyerden, and of particularly steady habits/A verdict way returned that death was, due to drowning, there being no evidence to show how the body got into the water.
