The New Zealand Rugby football team defeated Stanford University by 54 points to, nil. They ( showed some of their.real work in the first game ?n the turf. Stanford was hopelessly outclassed. The visitors handled the ball-almost faultlessly, and were only on one'occasion on the defence, being ■ 'pressed -Joy Stanford and forcing for the first- time in the tour. Tries were . scored by Mackenzie and Lynch (three each), McDonald (two), Bruce, Wyhe, gowning, Mitchinson, MacGregor and Taylor, one each. Roberts converted four tries and Mitchinson dropped a goal.
