, A iheeting of the Council of the Clydesdale Horse Society of Zealand was held in the registered office of'tne Society, 87'Crawford Street, Dunedin, oil Wednesday, '24th ' September, at 11 o'clock a.m. Present: Mr James W. Logan. Apologies were received from Messrs L. hi. Hamilton, Wilfred Johnstone, Jas. Knight, and Dr. Reakes. The following were elected mem-

John Cowie, Milburn; M. J. Crowe,

Di'iimmond; James Gemmell, Meadowfield, Inchholme; George Gray, Clarendon; J. W. Hayes, Centrewood, Waimate; J. B. Mclntyre, Rothiermureas, Thornbury: Thos. Scott, Foresthill, ClarksviJle; B. D. Steflens, Highfield, Waimate. The following -Societies were affiliated :—Edendale Horse Breeders Association, Incorporated, Edendale, Southland; Marlborough A. and P. Association, Blenheim: North Otago A. and P. Association. Oamaru ; Waikouaiti A. and P. Association, Waikouaiti.

It was stated in last report that an application,for affiliation bad been received from the Ashburton A. and P. Association. This was not. correct, the authority was a report published in the Christchurch Weekly Press of date 27th August. The resolution of the Ashburton A. and P. Association to affiliate has since that date been rescinded. The application by Mr John Boag. senr.. for prefix "Middlerig," was granted. It was agreed to leave the selection of photographs of stallions and mares to be reproduced in Volume T. to the* Editing Committee, the fee for each reproduction to be one guinea. Tt was agreed to despatch a cable to the Australian Clydesdale Breeders' assembled in Melbourne wishing theni complete success in their endeavour to form a Clydesdale Horse Society in Australia.
