The Government Meteorologist (Rev D. C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows; The indications are for freshening! northerly winds, strofig to gale. Aj storm appears to be approaching from ■the west. The weather will probably he dull and overcast. Heavy rain is to be expected, with rivers rising shortly. Barometer falling.
