THE PANAMA CANAL.
IN RELATION TO AUSTRALASIA. [By Electric Telegraph—copyright] [United Press Association.] London, October 10. Tlio Times, in a leader on tlio Panama Canal, lays stress on the fact that Australia will he no nearer Britain while it was brought 2500 miles closer to New York. It is hoped that it will he opened in January. The Culehra Cut is blocked completely by a 600 ft landslide of two million cubic yards of earth.
