FATAL ACCIDENT.

A CHILD SHOT. A very sad accident happened at Whangamomona on Saturday last, when Allan James, the nine-year-old son of Mr James Barlow, while playing with ‘an old rusty gun at the, house of a neighbour, shot himself through the heart and died immediately. An inquest was held before Mr Bradley, J.P., of Whangamomona, and a verdict of “accidental death” returned. Great sympathy is expressed with the bereaved parents, and a very largo number of settlers and friends were present at the interment which tool place yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
