THE LAST BARRIER.
THE PANAMA CANAL, [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] London, October 11. Many American asembled at the Savoy Hotel to celebrate the removal of the last barrier of the Panama Canal. While the Panama Canal celebrations were proceeding, Colonel Galliard, director of the Culebra Cut excavations, lay dying in a hospital from a breakdown duo to his long labors in the canal zone. It is staetd that President Wilson will ask Congress to abandon the discrimination in favor of American shipping passing through the canal.
