HAZEL STANLEY DIES.
AFTER SERIOUS ASSAULT.
MURDER CHARGE PROBABLE
On Saturday, September 27th, a woman mimed Hazel Stanley was taken to the Stratford Hospital by George Warren, a man who will be recognised by the public as having recently entered business in Stratford, using a coster's cart in his.operations. The woman .was in a bad way, and the police considered it advisable to hold Warren in custody, the woman showing signs of ill-treatment.* On the following Monday morning Warren appeared at the Court, charged with having, on September 20th, assaulted the woman so as to cause actual bodily harm, but Stanley was not able to appear to give evidence, and Warren was remanded till this morning. Stanley showed signs of improvement at one stage,, but suffered a relapse, and died early this morning. Warren, in due course, appeared at the Court this morning before Mr C. D. Sole, and was. further remanded till Friday. morning.
Arrangements are now being made for the inquest on Stanley, and if the evidence warrants such a course the charge against 'Warren will probably be increased.
