SEVENTH CONTINGENTER DROWNED. [Per Press Association.] Auckland, October 7. Harry Hard, an ex-member of the Seventh New Zealand Contingent to Africa, was drowned in tho Whakatane River. FATAL SHORT CUT.

At the inquest on Herbert Burt, the evidence indicated that the man was walking on the Orakei sewer, which is used as a short cut by pedestrians, and fell into the harbour and tvas drowned.
