DEATH OF A DEFENDANT. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 10.10 a.m.) London, October 6, The death is announced of Alfred Kemsley, oqe of the defendants in the major customs fraud case. THE CASE ADJOURNED. FURTHER CHARGES. (Received 10.30 a.m.) London, October 6. During the hearing of the case, the witness Neale was further cross-exam-ined. He gave instances of manufacturers quoting tmduly low prices for certain parts. One. firm valued the body of a motor car at £24, for which they {paid £4O. Another furnished two invoices for the body at £SO and £3l respectively. In fifteen Australian cases, in which people pleaded guilty, the' invoices came through Tozer, Kemsley, and Fisher. The case stands adjourned till the 15th and thence till November 10th, to enable the defence to investigate recent-ly-mentioned charges.
