A.J.C. SPRING MEETING. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] | [United Press Association.] Sydney, 5. The A.J.C. Spring Meeting opened yesterday. Tho weather kept fine for the racing, but'there was a thunderstorm after the last race. The track was in excellent order. The Gover-uor-General (Lord Denman) and Lady Denraan were present. There wav an attendance of 60,000 people. The public showed its resentment of , tho kite scratching of Duke Foote for the Metropolitan by loud hooting before and - after the running of- the Spring Stakes. It was the worst demonstration, yet seen at Randwick in similar circumstances. Results 01 the racing were : — ■ Sydney Hurdles, of 500 sovs; about two miles.—Wimmera 12.4, 1; Statu Quo 10.2, 2; Red Corn 11.4, 3. Nineteen started including The Native 11.9, Beacon 11.2, Whakaweira 10.10, Loch Mabin 9.9. Won by eight lengths, with six lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 47sec Trial Stakes, of 500 sovs, one mile and a quarter.—Challenge Crosse 1, Banksia 2, Marculfus 3. Thirteen started. Won by three-quarters of, a length. A.J.C. DERBY, of 5000 sovs; one mile and a-half; colts 9st 131 b., fillies 9st olb. Mr J. E. O'Brien's br c Beragoon, by Multiform—Wigelmar ... 1 Mr I.
