CYCLING. TfMAIIU-CHRISTCHURCH RACE. [Peu Pbess .Association.] Christchurch, October 2. This year's Titnarii-Christchurcii road race lias been set down for Saturday, October 25th. It promises to' be quite as successful as thoso held i'-i previous years. Entries are already coming in very freely from practically all parts of the Dominion. These will finally close on Monday week. The race is again being promoted by North and South Canterbury centres, and will be run in accordance with tho rides of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union.
GOLF, The Stratford Golf Club formally closed the season yesterday, \vl.cii mixed foursomes were played for trophies donated by Dr. Paget. Eon-teen couples competed, and the winners were Mrs Pudge and Mr J. H. Thompson. In the play off or second prize, Mrs Richards and Mr N. E. Dunlop beat Miss Fussell and Mr l<\ P. Uniacke after an interesting and exciting contest. Scores:— Mrs Budge and J. 11.
