LONDON WOOL SALES. The Xcmv Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have recoived tiie following cablegram from their London house under date 30th September:—As compared with last sales closing rates prices are higher by about 5 per cent for scoured merino inferior; higher by about par to 5 per cent for crossbred scoured, greasy merino super, greasy crossbred, scoured merino super and scoured merino medium ; about the same for merino and crossbred lambs and greasy merino medium; lower by about par to 5 per cent for crossbred slipo and greasy merino inferior.

Wool sold locally.—The demand on American account is restricted.

New "Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford Branch, report as follows: On Tuesday last, 30th September, we held a springing heifer sale in our Stratford yards, when we yarded 80 head of heifers. Bidding was not so keen as at previous sales, but any heifers in good condition and close to profit realised good money. We quote as follows:—2 year old heifers close to profit and in fat* condition £0 5e to £7 10s, 2 year heifers (backward and small) 77s 6d to 122 s 6d, 3 year olet heifers close to profit £0 12s 6d, £0 15s, £7 os, £7 10s, and up to £8 ss, good dairy cows £6 10s to £7 10s. During the week we have disposed of stock privately at the following rates:—Yearling steers 62s 6d to 67c 3d, yearling heifers (ordinary sorts) 52s 6d to 56s,~yearling heifers showing colour 75s to 92s 63, 2 year steers £! 5s to £4 lds,' i "springing heifers £6 10s to £8 2s (id, store cows in lines £4 2s 3d and £4 os, unbroken draught gelding £3O, 1 harness horse £2O.
