TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.
The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Presbytery was held in the Presbyterian Hall at Hawera on Thursday. Rev. Mr Roseveare, moderator, presided, and there were present 6ix ministers and seven eldars, and two home missionaries other than those who are elders. Rev! Mi" Robertson reported on belalf of the commission that visited vaponga pn September 15th. There ire seven preaching places with an iverage attendance of 980.- Collection per Sunday £2 ss, revenue for last 3 years £296, £192, £314, of

Brief reports of a verbal character ,vei\e given in with regard to the progress of work in the home mission districts of Patea, Kaponga, Toko, vVbangamomona, Inglewood, Waitara, ind Okato. for 1914-15. Revs. Messrs Welsh, Roseveare and Flower were appointed to Assembly's "ommittees on commissions and records, standing committees and bills
nd business respectively. REMIT ON TRANSFERENCE OF MINISTERS. The Presbytery proceeded to con-
sider this remit* As this Presbytery had been the Assembly's Committee m the same theme two or three years back and had spent considerable time in trying to arrive at a satisfactory solution of the difficulties only to find that the church turned down its recommendations, it was agreed that the time was not ripe for such a scheme as indicated in the remit, which was more drastic even than their own.
Rev. Mr Shore was appointed in the
place of Rev D. N. McKenzie, transferred to Paterangi to exchange with Mr Ireland and read the Presbytery's finding anent the Patea visitation. Tt was also indicated that in the near future some definite work wouk have to be done for the Presbyterianr beyond TJrenui. The Moderator thought that it might be possible to secure the appointment of an itinerating missionary. Rev". Mr Mclvor detailed steps that were being taken to form a new mission station between Waverley) Taranaki) and Aramoho, Wanganui Presbytery.) As the. latter Presbytery, which was moving just now in the. matter, proposed to take in part of this Presbytery, it was decided to offer no objection to the experiment. Rev. mons sent in by four Home Missionaries for friendly criticism. He was pleased to express his gratification at the ability and earnestness disclosed and moved accordingly.
