MEDICAL SCHOOLS.

At the opening of the Medical Schools, Professor William Osier, addressing the students at St. Geofgo's Hospital, vigorously attacked the examination system, whereby some of tin best material failed simply through the curriculum. Medicine could be taught without systematic lectures. They should burn the anatomical fetish. He instanced that "Cunningham's Anatomy" was a barbaric cruelty, and bur dened the mind with minutiae which was only of value as a Titanic test of the memory. Where possible, evidence of original work should be substituted for examination.
