THE WRECKED TYRONE.

REINSURED at home.

U: Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.) London, September 30. The Tyrone has been reinsured at 75 find 80 guineas. SALVAGE OPERATIONS. [Per Press Association.] Wellington, September 30. The Union tug Terawhiti left for Port Chalmers at 7 o’clock to-night, taking gear for salvage work at the Tyrone wreck. , Captain R. S. Tayltir, special officer of the Salvage Association, London, left for tile South by the Maitai to inspect the wreck. THE POSITION UNCHANGED.

Dunedin, September 30. The position of the Tyrone remains unchanged. A slight easterly swell sot in to-day, but not enough to cause anxiety. Ain effort will be made to-morrow , to place a 16-h.p. dredge boiler on the , vessel for the purpose of operating the pumps.. The nautical inquiry into the mishap will 1)0 held on Tuesday. At a meeting of shareholders in the Union Company to-day, Sir James Mills said that he understood an impression prevailed amongst some shareholders that .the possible loss of the Tyrone might so encroach upon the company’s insurance fund as to affect the scheme of reconstruction. He was pleased to. assure them that even if the Tyrone turned out a total loss, and he was glad to say that there was, apparently, some chance of refloating her, the insurance fund of the company would not be seriously affected. The transfer of the four ships purchased, of which the Tyrone was one, had not been completed when their previous policies expired, and their insurances had been renewed by their former managers. The Tyrone was, therefore, covered to a fair extent, and the Union Company’s insurance fund would not be prejudiced should a total loss eventuate.
