A TOTAL WRECK.
STEAMER TYRONE ASHORE
NEAR OTACO HEADS.

Dunedin, September 22. The Tyrone is ashore at Waionel Point, about half a mile from the Otago Heads. Tlie vessel was bound from Lyttelton to Port Chalmers. The Tyrone is one of the four vessels recently purchased by the "Union Steamship Co. from the Houltler Line. WENT BROADSIDE ON. The Tyrone is reported to be a total wreck. She is filling up fast with water. She went broadside on to the rocks close in to the shore. VESSEL BADLY DAMAGED. CREW NOT YET ASHORE. The latest concerning the wreck is that the propeller blades are gone. No. 3 hold is full of water. The rudder is damaged. The crew are not yet ashore.
FOG LIFTED TEMPORARILY
A HOPELESS WRECK
The Tyrone's crew can land, but will have to be hauled up a cliff. The fog lifted temporarily, but it if settling down again The vessel is a hopeless wreck.
