|Bt Electric Telegraph— Copyright 1 ([United Press Association.] (deceived 8.45 a.m.) Sydney, September 20. There is a possibility of the Grif-fith-Wade embroglio reaching an impasse. Mr Wade has received a letter from Mr Griffith's solicitors informing. him that they have been instructed to issue a writ against Mr Wade claiming damages in connection with. what they describe as “numerous false and malicious statements and. charges of base corruption published by you against our client.” The letter, however, refers only to charges made by Mr Wade in Febiuary, 1912. Mr Wade, in a letter in reply, demurs raking up the old charge, and : (stipulates that it and the recent charges .should be treated separately and made the subject of two actions; he also .stipulates that the actions, be| commenced not later than Octohei 20, , and that Mr Griffith should enter the witness-box and submit himself to cr o«B-examination. Some doubt if Mr Griffith will accept the stipulations.
